Mold Inspection Sciences of Portland provides mold testing, mold inspection, mold detection, and mold remediation support services.  We do not perform mold remediation or construction and therefore there are no conflicts of interest for our clients.

Mold Testing Services

We focus on determining the existence of mold growth, mold type, and the airborne concentrations of mold spores (you need to know what you are breathing).

Types of samples that we recommend to test for mold:

• Ambient air samples,
• Wall cavity samples (air inside of a wall cavity),
• Surface samples (swab, bulk material, tape lift)

Mold Inspection and Mold Detection Services

• Complete mold inspection of your property designed to identify sources and instances of water intrusion and to detect mold,
• Our findings, conclusions, recommendations, and digital color photographs are assembled into a complete, written report,
• Our company uses the finest moisture detection equipment, digital hygrometers, and Zefon BioPumps and Zefon Air-O-Cells (for mold spore air sampling)

Mold Remediation: Scopes of Work and Post Testing Services

• If the mold detection and mold testing of your property determines that you have a mold concern, we write a detailed “scope of work” that documents how the mold should be professionally remediated.  This scope of work can be provided to companies that specialize in mold remediation.
• Once the mold has been properly remediated, Mold Inspection Sciences will perform a final, post inspection and testing to ensure that:
• All mold remediation containment areas are properly built and clean of dust and debris,
• All microbial growth is removed and/or cleaned,
• All building materials are dry,
• There are no active sources of water intrusion, and
• Ambient mold spore air samples and cross contamination samples meet established guidelines for clearance.
